Vision and Doctrine
Isaac Mashman sets the firm’s direction, writes its doctrine, and carries its public work: the Manifesto, the press, and the stage.
Mashman Consulting Group is led by practitioners who built their own names before advising anyone else on theirs.

Isaac Mashman is the founder of Mashman Consulting Group and the author of Personal Branding: A Manifesto on Fame and Influence, now in its second edition. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Manifesto reached #1 New Release in Public Relations on Amazon. The Second Edition took #3 New Release in Public Relations on Amazon in hardcover. Both editions reached Amazon's Top 10 Best Sellers in Public Relations. The Second Edition surpassed its predecessor in both rankings and sales.
At the firm, Isaac sets the vision and the doctrine, leads its public work in print, in the press, and on stage, and holds every engagement to the standard. He came to personal branding through several unrelated ventures, including apparel, music management, and network marketing, and found the discipline by living the same trial and error the firm’s clients go through, not by starting there.
In 2024 he academically published Identity Positioning: A Macroscopic View on Personal Branding, the methodology he developed with Eric Chow, establishing the world's first Philosophy of Personal Branding. Quoted three times in Forbes (2024 (opens in a new tab), 2024 (opens in a new tab), 2025 (opens in a new tab)). Quoted in Entrepreneur. He has spoken at the Atlantic-Oase Professional Conference in Denver and Cleveland, the Water Garden Expo in Oklahoma, and the Dreamer's Summit in Ghana. For interviews or speaking availability, see the press kit.
Alongside MCG he owns Mashman Properties (opens in a new tab), a real estate investment firm, and Mashman Investments (opens in a new tab), an equity investment firm. Both are active holdings.

Eric Chow is Chief Operating Officer of Mashman Consulting Group and a long-time collaborator of Isaac Mashman's since 2019. He is the editor and foreword author of the Second Edition of the Manifesto.
Eric helped develop the Identity Positioning™ philosophy itself, not only the book that documents it. Where the methodology's origins are described, that collaboration is part of the record.
He hosted The Eric Chow Empowers Podcast, launched in August 2019, with listeners in 96 countries. The two met in 2019 through a tweet during a podcast tour, and Eric first interviewed Isaac on the show that August. He previously served as advisor and board member at Mashman Ventures and was appointed Chief Consultant in 2021, overseeing client relationships and heading that firm's consultant division. He is based in Union City, California.
In a world where anybody can have a platform and information is abundant, what separates us is our “personal brand.” More specifically, that unique combination of our “person” and our “brand.”

Co-editor and foreword author of the Second Edition, and co-developer of the Identity Positioning™ philosophy.
Co-editor of the Second Edition, alongside Eric Chow.
Every engagement is spearheaded by the people who wrote the doctrine. Isaac Mashman and Eric Chow developed Identity Positioning™ together: Isaac is the visionary and the face of the firm, and Eric works behind the scenes and in the room for its executive appearances. Every consultant who carries the MCG name follows the path they set, trained in the same methodology and held to the same standard. Nothing is handed down to someone who has never built a name of their own; the people who wrote the method stay accountable for how it is used.
Engagements are accepted by application and seats are limited each quarter. That is a deliberate position, not a capacity statement. The firm's depth sits in its published doctrine, and MCG opens its formal consultant body in 2028, trained in the Identity Positioning™ methodology and held to a standard the industry does not have.
Mashman Consulting Group is built to work the same way whoever you meet first. The method, the audit, the technology, and the standard belong to the firm; each part has an owner.
Isaac Mashman sets the firm’s direction, writes its doctrine, and carries its public work: the Manifesto, the press, and the stage.
Eric Chow runs the firm day to day: its workflows, the oversight of client delivery, the UnrivaledMCG training platform, and the material every consultant learns from.
Your MCG consultant takes the Brand Audit with you before the consultation, runs the consultation, and stays with you after it. How consultations work.
identitypositioning.com, with the free Brand Audit and twelve free tools; Identity Quest™; Personal Branding Agencies; and UnrivaledMCG. Every one is the firm’s.
Editorial coverage is earned, never bought. Everyone who carries the MCG name works inside the same methodology, the same ethics, and the same standard.
Identity Positioner™ is in development and scheduled for 2027. The formal consultant body opens in 2028, trained in the same methodology. The consultant track.
