Isaac Mashman and the standard he built.
Mashman Consulting Group is led by practitioners who built their own names before advising anyone else on theirs.

Isaac Mashman
Isaac Mashman is the founder of Mashman Consulting Group and the author of Personal Branding: A Manifesto on Fame and Influence, now in its second edition. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Manifesto reached #1 New Release in Public Relations on Amazon. The Second Edition took #3 New Release in Public Relations on Amazon in hardcover. Both editions reached Amazon's Top 10 Best Sellers in Public Relations. The Second Edition surpassed its predecessor in both rankings and sales.
Before personal branding, Isaac moved through several unrelated ventures, including apparel, music management, and network marketing, before realizing where his real interest was. That path is part of why he built Identity Positioning™ the way he did: he found the discipline by living the same trial and error his clients go through, not by starting there.
In 2024 he academically published Identity Positioning: A Macroscopic View on Personal Branding, establishing the world's first Philosophy of Personal Branding. Quoted three times in Forbes (2024 (opens in a new tab), 2024 (opens in a new tab), 2025 (opens in a new tab)). Quoted in Entrepreneur. He has spoken at the Atlantic-Oase Professional Conference in Denver and Cleveland, the Water Garden Expo in Oklahoma, and the Dreamer's Summit in Ghana. For interviews or speaking availability, see Press Inquiries.
Alongside MCG he owns Mashman Properties (opens in a new tab), a real estate investment firm, and Mashman Investments (opens in a new tab), an equity investment firm. Both are active holdings.

Eric helped develop the Identity Positioning™ philosophy itself, not only the book that documents it. Where the methodology's origins are described, that collaboration is part of the record.
He hosted The Eric Chow Empowers Podcast, launched August 11, 2019, with listeners in 96 countries. The two met in 2019 through a tweet during a podcast tour, and Eric first interviewed Isaac on the show that August. He previously served as advisor and board member at Mashman Ventures and was appointed Chief Consultant in 2021, overseeing client relationships and heading that firm's consultant division. He is based in Union City, California.

Principal-led, by design.
Engagements are led by the people who wrote the doctrine. Nothing is handed down a bench to be worked by someone who has never built a name of their own. That is the point of a private practice: the person advising you is the person accountable for the position you end up holding.
Engagements are accepted by application and seats are limited each quarter. That is a deliberate position, not a capacity statement. The firm's depth sits in its published doctrine, and MCG opens its formal consultant body in 2028, trained in the Identity Positioning™ methodology and held to a standard the industry does not have.
Your name is already being interpreted. The question is who are they, and what are they thinking?
Engagements are accepted by application and seats are limited each quarter. Tell us who you are, what you are building, and the position you intend to hold.
